Multi-Sports & Athletic Training

If you’re an Elementary or Middle Schooler looking towards joining a league or creating a leauge but not good enough, lack confidence in your abilities or don’t have good coaches, BENSWIC is just right for you.

BENSWIC offers a wide variety of After-School programs perfect for off-site (designated location) or schools. Our programs can be very broad and incorporate multiple sports or be very specific and focused on one sport/activity, depending upon the needs and interests of the students or schools We have a curriculum that will ensure students will get better from a skill point, as well as, getting in shape with athletic training.

Every 2 – 4 weeks Benswic will introduce a new sport such as soccer, flag football, baseball, volleyball, hockey, tennis, and more (below).

***Due to COVID-19 our capacity for each class will be 8 and for ONLY 1hr.

The following sports are available during the school year:

The four basic baseball skills are catching, hitting, throwing and base running. These four are collectively called baseball drills.

Ball control with the feet which includes dribbling, passing, and kicking and are the primary skills emphasized.

Dodgeball is a great way for students to enjoy participating in physical education while learning a variety of movement skills, such as catching, throwing, dodging, and teamwork.

Overhead pass to put the ball in a good position. The most exciting skill, trying to hit the ball over the net on the opponents ground to win a point. The serves put the ball into play, sending the ball over the net to start a rally.

The Five Basic Skills of Basketball. Dribbling. Dribbling is an important skill for all basketball players. Shooting. In order to score points in basketball, you need to shoot the ball into the hoop. Running. Running is a big part of basketball. Passing. Passing is another skill that when mastered can help you become a complete basketball player. Jumping.

A competent tennis player has eight basic shots to learn; the serve, forehand, backhand, volley, half-volley, overhead, drop shot and lob.

Flag Football

Basic Skill Development. Snap Drill; Hand-Off Drill; Fake Hand-Off; Flag Pulling

Ultimate Frisbee

Classic skills that everybody needs to learn – Throwing a Frisbee. Grip; and Catch. Then we'll put them through a few testing the Gamified Station Activities to see how they will do.

Lacrosse is a spectacular sport of skill, speed and finesse. Focus specifically on each skill set: cradling, scooping, throwing and catching.

This is the time to teach kids fundamental skills for movement, agility, strength, endurance, and hypertrophy, as well as specific sports skills. This is when you can start basic strength training.

Speed & Agility

Speed and agility training improves performance and minimizes injury for young athletes across multiple sports. To do this, players need to develop single leg strength, balance, core stability, eccentric strength and the ability to land safely. Speed and agility programs focus on all these components, allowing an athlete to translate these skills to any sport.

Functional Movement

Functional training exercises mimic the same or similar everyday movement patterns, like walking, squatting to pick up something heavy without injuring yourself. These functional movement patterns in a workout strengthen you in a particular way that directly translates to an activity outside the gym. For example in a squat, deadlift, lunge, or push-up; these exercises typically mimic everyday movement patterns – like pull, push, squat, hinge, rotation – better than isolation exercises, like a bicep curl.

If stretching is done on a regular basis, there will be an increase in the range of motion at specific joints. The stretching will help to improve human movement, whether it is athletics or engaging in physical activity, the circulation of blood and oxygen to the active tissues, and the pain and soreness that results from using the muscles.
