The Benswic boys and girls cross country teams both came out on Sunday’s USATF XC #1 meet ready to perform.
Last year cross country season we were running under a different name “Fuse Academy” and with 4 runners. Today we’re officially known as Benswic |bens,wik|. We already feel like a team, our runners are focus and ready to prove to themselves they can compete with whomever.
A surprise way to finish off the season with having 4 of our runners qualifying to Regional Championships held in Albany.
Fuse Academy competed today in the USATF New York Association Junior Olympic Championships held at Icahn Stadium.
Competing in the USATF New York Association Junior Olympic Championships today, Abigail Melican qualified to USATF Regional 1 Junior Olympics, which is held at Albany University.
We are entering into our second meet of Outdoor Track. We also welcome three more new members to the team.
Bryana Marshall performed amazingly today, competing in the 200m, 400m and long jump.
Abby, who has been amazing in the 1500m & 800m so far. We are all looking for her performance to weeks to come.
Today, we are at the Brooklyn Armory. It’s an amazing facility that the YMCA has. Who knew? Anyway, today was a great day for everyone. All of Fuse Academy Track Club runners were prepared and ready to show their running abilities.
Fuse Academy Track Club attends a new facility in Staten Island, the Ocean Breeze Park Indoor Track. We’re excited in leaving Cross Country season behind us and moving forward with the remainder of our first indoor season.
The time has come with a new track club, some new to cross country, 3 practices a week, competitive competitions all balled up to this moment. The Championship meet to qualify to Regional 1 then to Nationals. Though most of my runners qualified to Regional 1, unfortunately, we are unable to go.
